This quaint beach town is bordered by the beautiful cities of Sarasota and Venice. It’s justifiably known for its beautiful seashore, many shopping opportunities and cultivated residential areas. The unincorporated town also includes Nokomis Beach. Located at the south end of exclusive Casey Key. Being just 15 miles south of Sarasota, it’s close to all the exciting activities that Sarasota has to offer while still having that small town feel.
Nokomis has 14 miles of white sandy beach! The Beach and Park is comprised of 22 acres. 1,700 feet of coastline running along the Gulf of Mexico, and 3,200 feet along the Intra-coastal Waterway. This area is known for its stunning white sand beaches that are ideal for shelling and beach-combing. Scuba diving, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and boating are just some of the other activities available. Many convenient features are provided. Such as lifeguards, free parking, restrooms, showers and picnic tables with grills. Further more, there’s a children’s playground for the kiddos to enjoy, and a new pavilion with food. It’s Sarasota County’s oldest public beach and is located on Casey Key just west of the Albee Road Bridge.
